We’re excited to host our first ever Gallery Night at Haskill Creek–featuring three local artists, whose prints we carry in the store. On February 27, 2025, we’re bringing together photographer Justin Kauffman, painter Tessa Heck, and printmaker Tarek Penser for an evening of art, conversation, and connection, giving you the chance to experience their work in person, meet the artists behind it, and take home something that truly speaks to you. Whether you’re a longtime fan of any (or like us… all!) of these three talented artists, a casual art lover, or are simply looking for a beautiful night out in Whitefish, Our Haskill Creek Gallery Night is an invitation to be inspired.

About the Artists

Justin Kauffman – Photographer

Justin Kauffman’s photography captures the outdoors, and Montana, in a way that feels both expansive and intimate — wide skies, quiet water, and moments that almost seem to pause time. We’ve been big fans of Justin for years–he’s the photographer behind many of the professional photos that we have of the store, Wellness Bar, and the products we showcase and sell. This winter, we’re excited to showcase his incredible outdoor photography as framed prints in the store as well. You’ll notice the large-scale framed pieces both in the East 1st Street entryway, and in hanging on the walls at Haskill Creek. His prints are also available for sale unframed. In a world filled with ai-generated images, it’s incredible to look at these photographs that look almost too good to be true–but aren’t.

Tessa Heck – Painter

Tessa Heck’s work is some of our favorite–her bright takes on Montana landscapes are refreshing and fun, and fit right in with our personal aesthetic. They’re playful, bright, and a unique take on the natural world around us. Plus, who doesn’t love a good bronco print, am I right? Tessa is not only an artist, but also a Gallery owner and an all around delightful person. We’ve been thrilled to partner with her to feature her work in the store since we opened up downtown. She’s also been featured in our Haskill Essentials, and chatted with her about creativity as self-care on the blog.

Tarek Penser – Printmaker

Tarek’s prints bring a playful, modern energy to the mix — bold, graphic, and instantly mood-lifting. His work has a way of blending simplicity with personality, making each piece feel both approachable and statement-worthy. Whether it’s a clean line or a striking color combination, Tarek’s prints spark joy and curiosity — the kind of art that makes you smile every time you walk past it. We’ve been pleased to carry both his prints and his cards since this summer, and are looking forward to showcasing his locally-inspired prints at Gallery Night. His pieces add a bright, contemporary counterpoint to the works of Justin and Tessa, creating a dynamic, well-rounded collection that feels alive and expressive.

Gallery Night is more than just a chance to shop art — it’s an opportunity to connect with the people and stories behind the work, and to spend an evening immersed in creativity, beauty, and community. We’ll have the artists on site, light bites and sips, and plenty of time to wander, ask questions, and hopefully go home with something special.
