These are lovingly and expertly crafted by herbal aficionado Robin Kelly. She takes her extensive herbal knowledge and creates healing blends that are as beneficial to the body as they are tasty.

This go around, we are highlighting our Heart Healthy Tea Blend. This herbal blend is caffeine-free and supports heart health as well as the cardiovascular system. It’s fruity and floral notes are accented with a touch of tartness and spice. Enjoyed hot or cold, as we head into Spring- try it over ice, sweetened with honey and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Option to serve with a side of rest and relaxation.

Ingredient Profiles:

Hawthorn- Berry, Leaf, & Flower | A heavy-hitter and all-star of this blend. Hawthorn lowers blood pressure and improves heart rate as well as cardiac output during moderate exercise. Since it dilates blood vessels, it improves blood flow to the heart and the rest of the body.

Danshen or Red Sage | Is known to help in widening and relaxing of blood vessels to improve circulation. Often used in treatment of Heart Disease and reducing chest pain.

Rosehips | Can help boost blood flow and circulation by naturally thinning the blood. This helps modulate blood pressure, and well as helping prevent clogged arteries and plaque buildup.

Gotu Kola | Is seen in the treatment of varicose veins as it helps to prevent blood clots in the legs and prevent the damage of small blood vessels in people with diabetes.

Clary Sage | Has Cardio-protective qualities while improving circulation by relaxing arteries and the brain.

This blend also includes powerful anti-inflammatories and additional benefits of:
Hibiscus Flower, Ginger, and Cinnamon.

As the see-saw days of Spring weather meander about…

smoothie season is soon upon us. The coming days of sunshine beckon us the try to incorporate more fruit into our diets. Smoothies are a wonderful way to do so- plus, a perfect opportunity to sprinkle in nutritional boosts.

This vegan recipe is a good introduction, featuring tried and true raspberries and tropical mangos. The addition of yogurt provides probiotics and protein. While a touch of adaptogenic mushrooms can provide a mental and immunity boost. Experimentation is welcome to find what suits you.

Ingredients:

• 2/3 Cup of Frozen Raspberries

• 2/3 Cup of Frozen Mangos

• 1-2 whopping spoonfuls of Non-Dairy Yogurt (Coconut is a great option)

• 1 Cup of alternative milk (oat, hemp, almond, coconut)

• 1/2 Banana

• 1/2 teaspoon of Adaptogenic Mushroom Powder (We chose Chaga from Mother Fungi)

Instructions:

Blend & Enjoy!

A note on Ingredients & Substitutions:

• Substitute Greek Yogurt, if desired.

Meet Amber!

Amber is a Functional Medicine Nurse Practitioner who helps people take control of their health once and for all by finding and fixing the root cause of their chronic health issues.

Looking to add fresh life into your salad game? This Tarragon Vinaigrette can do just that!

This recipe is uniquely infused with Fresh Tarragon- contributing a delicate licorice-like flavor. Lightly sweetened with agave, and a gentle spice of Dijon. The lemon olive oil provides an invitation to dream of fields of lemon trees soaked in sunshine.

Tarragon Vinaigrette:

• 1 TB Shallot – finely chopped

• 3/4 cup Lemon Olive Oil (We like McEvoy Ranch)

• 1/4 cup Champagne Vinegar (We like Brightland)

• 1 TB Fresh Tarragon – chopped

• 1-2 tsp Agave

• 1-2 tsp Dijon Mustard

• 1 tsp Salt (We like Pineapple Collaborative)

• Freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions:

Combine all of the ingredients in a 16 ounce mason jar and cover with lid.

Shake vigorously until oil and vinegar are emulsified.

Use while it is fresh, but can be safely stored in the refrigerator for 5 days.

One of the founding pillars here at Haskill Creek…

is an honoring of our relationship with Mother Nature. We knew the healing elements of botanics and herbs would be at the root of much of what we do. This is what inspired us to acquire single-source, organic, and locally-sourced (whenever possible) dried herbs. Soon after, we began to make in-house tea blends featuring these quality herbs. Our expert Herbtender Robin Kelly, happens to have a knack for creating her own herbal concoctions. Once we sampled her unique take on Chai tea, we knew it was special- and that it had to be shared.

This blend makes a perfect coffee alternative, with the added benefits of detoxifying effects. Flavorful chai-spiced darjeeling black tea harmonizes with healing roots, reishi, and cacao nibs. This blend features a warming and earthy taste, with bitter notes reminiscent of coffee. Full of adaptogens, this energizing tea has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and stress-modulating properties.
