Here are some of the go-to places the Haskill Staff are going to get moving this Winter!
Big Mountain (Whitefish Mountain Resort): Pretty self-explanatory!
Delia Pilates: Love Delia and all the instructors! With both group and private sessions you can workout at your level through equipment-based Pilates classes, including reformer, mat, and chair combinations.
Camp Scout and Gather Cross Country Skiing: New this year! Visit The Mercantile (great shopping!) for details on enjoying the trails and sign a quick waiver. Whether you're looking for a relaxing glide or a nice workout, there’s something for everyone.
Glacier Nordic Club: This nonprofit organization is dedicated to promoting cross-country skiing and maintaining groomed Nordic trails in the Whitefish area.
Whitefish Lake Golf Course: Offers 12 kilometers of groomed trails for skate and classic skiing. Trails are well-maintained and great for skiers of all levels, from beginners to advanced.
Big Mountain Nordic Trails: Located near Whitefish Mountain Resort, these trails are groomed for Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. They wind through quiet forests and provide an immersive winter experience.
Meadow Lake Nordic Trail: Located at Meadow Lake Golf Course in Columbia Falls. Offers a peaceful experience with fewer crowds.
Love Yoga & Barre A staff favorite! This studio offers a variety of heated and non-heated classes, including hot yoga, barre, sculpt, yin, and kids yoga. They also host wellness events and teacher training.
Shanti Yoga: Jodi is the best! Her studio provides public, private, and semi-private classes suitable for all levels. Their classes blend various styles of Hatha Yoga, emphasizing alignment, energetic movement, and mindfulness.
Stumptown Ice Den: Open skate is the perfect time to show off your skills or hold on to the side rail 😂. The Stumptown Ice Den is a year-round ice facility offering public skating sessions, figure skating, hockey leagues, and curling. It's a hub for ice-related activities in the community.
The Whitefish River Trail: In town, a quick scenic walk to get those legs moving! It’s a paved, multi-use path that follows the Whitefish River for about a mile through town, passing through several small parks. During winter, the trail can become icy and snow-covered, making it suitable for activities like walking, snowshoeing, or cross-country skiing. It's advisable to wear appropriate footwear, such as cleats or crampons, to navigate potentially slippery sections.
The Whitefish Trails: Not all are probably great for winter, but a few still are!
Lionhead Mountain Trail: This trailhead offers short, scenic loops perfect for snowshoeing or winter hiking. The dense forest provides some protection from wind, and the trails are well-marked.
Beaver Lake Area: This area has gentle, rolling terrain ideal for snowshoeing. The trails offer beautiful views of frozen lakes and a peaceful winter landscape.
