Finding Calm in the Chaos: A New Mom’s First Holiday Season

By Megan Scameheorn

A Season of Reset & Reconnection

Motherhood has been a beautiful reset and realignment of priorities for me. I’m naturally laid back, but I love when things feel intentional: clean ingredients, organic textures, and a touch of style woven in. With time and energy in shorter supply these days, I find myself drawn to things that feel elevated yet uncomplicated. I want products that support our rhythm rather than interrupt it.

My background in wellness has a big impact on the choices I make for our son. However, I’ve learned not to obsess over it. I do my research, make the best choice I can, and then trust it. This is one reason I turn to brands I trust instead of one-off products.

Gentle Care for His Little World

For him, the Canopy Humidifier is my pick this season. It’s mold-resistant, dishwasher-safe for easy cleaning, and helps his skin stay soft through our dry Montana winters. It’s such a simple way to care for his little world on a daily basis. I love that quiet hum at night and knowing the air he’s breathing is clean and gentle.

Small, Luxurious Rituals for Myself

For myself, I’m all about products that are smart, effective, and a little luxurious. The True Botanicals Mama Glow Set and Le Prunier Plum Oil check those boxes for me. Both have become part of my small but mighty self-care ritual, a few mindful minutes after bedtime to reset my own skin and spirit. It’s amazing how a simple skincare moment can feel like a deep breath.

Rediscovering Magic Through His Eyes

This holiday season, I want to slow down and soak it all in. The holidays have always felt magical, but sharing that magic with him makes it all feel brand new. The lights seem brighter, the quiet moments softer, and even the simplest traditions like reading by the tree or morning walks in the snow feel like something sacred. I’m learning that motherhood isn’t about doing more; it’s about being present for the moments that matter.
