Haskill Lately: Spring Cleaning, Ayurvedic Tooth Care, and Jobs Available at Haskill Creek
It’s Spring Break here in Whitefish, and so far it’s feeling a little more “stay inside and get things done” than “get outside and soak up the sun.” For those of us staying local, it has been a good week to catch up on some of the projects that tend to linger in the background this time of year. Around here, that has meant things like finally taking down garland and outdoor lights, cleaning out the pantry, and getting the house a little more in order for the season ahead.
If you are in a similar mode, it also happens to be a good time to take stock of the products you use every day. We have been especially into the Koala Eco cleaning line lately. Their formulas are non-toxic, effective, and smell genuinely good, which is not always easy to find. If spring cleaning is on your list, they are worth a look.
We are also continuing our gut health series with the second post in the lineup: The Gut-Brain Connection: Exploring the Link Between Stress & Digestion. It takes a closer look at the connection between the nervous system and the gut, and why stress can show up physically in digestion in very real ways. From the vagus nerve to cortisol to the role of mindful eating, it is a helpful reminder that digestion is not just about what we eat, but also the state our body is in when we eat it. If you have ever noticed your stomach feeling off during stressful seasons, this one is especially worth reading.
On the product side, we are excited to have Terra & Co in the store. Their approach to oral care draws from Ayurvedic practices like oil pulling and tongue scraping, paired with modern ingredients like hydroxyapatite. If Ayurvedic tooth care sounds a little unfamiliar, that is part of what makes the line interesting. It is a different way of thinking about oral health, with a focus on supporting enamel, fresh breath, and the oral microbiome through daily ritual.
And finally, as we continue to grow the wellness bar, we are hiring. We are currently looking for both full- and part-time team members for barista/front-of-house and kitchen/back-of-house roles. If you or someone you know is interested in being part of what we are building, we would love to hear from you. If you have questions or want to submit a resume, the best way to do that is by emailing [email protected].
